ROM Porting on Liquid Metal

With the help of roggin (@), i was able to make a nice kernel for porting.

Had issue at begining with amount of avalaible RAM, but he gave me a nice patch to fix that.

Let's porting begin.

What's booting so far :

HTC Sense ROM, stock ROM from Desire Z. (Android 2.2)

MIUI (Android 2.2)

CM7 for HTC Vision (Android 2.3.2)

Acer A5 dump (Android 2.3.2)

Still many hard work to do for both of those ROMs, keep in mind that it will take (long) time.

If someone want to help, fill free to contact me.

Dump & infos about Acer A5 Gingerbread build

    Previous screenshots i posted came from a dump of the Acer A5 (S300) that i was able to boot on the Liquid Metal. I'll not try to port it furthermore, expecting a leak for the Metal soon.

It's trully Gingerbread build, Android v2.3.2, with a new version of Acer/Breeze UI, and the kernel seems to be upgraded to 2.6.35. We can hope that Acer will build Gingerbread for the Liquid Metal, and why not for the Liquid/E too, with a new kernel.

ro.build.id=GRH78C

ro.build.display.id=Acer_S300_0.014.04_EMEA_GEN1

ro.build.version.release=2.3.2

ro.build.date=Mon Jan 31 16:40:05 CST 2011

Info for dev : Acer is now using a 3G VMSPLIT, at least for this build.

Super Bowl Ad for the XOOM

This clip may only be 15 seconds long, but it’s one of the best ads I will ever see to combat an Apple product. One man stands out in a crowd of thousands who look alike. Get it? Got it? Great. Look forward to the other 15 seconds come Sunday on Fox.

[Update]: We’ve just received word that the ad will actually be 60 seconds long, not thirty. It’ll also air during the second quarter, if you want to keep an eye out for it.That’s aggressive! Here’s Motorola’s description:

Created by Anomaly New York, the ad entitled "Empower the People" is set in an Orwellian, 1984-esque world where technology - and people - are limited by restrictive platforms.   Enter Motorola XOOM – the tablet to create a better world – and a new day with optimism, openness, freedom and empowerment.
